Department of Economics Organizes Workshop on "The Social Dimension of Organizations"

This workshop is organised by Mirco Tonin, Visiting Research Fellow at CEU Economics Department, and Michael Vlassopoulos, from the University of Southampton.

Adam Szeidl wins European Research Council grant on "Networks"

Adam will use this grant to empirically examine the effect of social networks on economic outcomes. He will combine experiments and firm level data to investigate questions including how social connections help make microfinance work in developing countries; how knowledge diffusion between firm managers about export markets affects foreign trade; and what is the effect of political connections on firm productivity, among others.

Cecilia Hornok, a PhD Candidate in Economics, finishing her PhD this year, had an article published on voxeu.org, a leading European blog on economic policy analysis.

Professor's publication in leading American journal, American Economic Review

Gábor Kézdi, Assistant Professor, prospective Head of the Department and Gábor Kertesi, Senior Research Fellow, Institute of Economics, The Hungarian Academy of Sciences, had their article ’The Roma/Non-Roma Test Score Gap in Hungary’ published in the most recent volume of a leading American economics journal, American Economic Review, Papers and Proceedings (Vol. 101, No. 3, May 2011).
